• The French Institut des Actuaires is partner of the 34th edition of the Competition for Theses in Economics and Finance, carried by le Centre des professions financières. The theme for this year is FACING NEW CHALLENGES. This competition is not only for actuarial students but more widely for students in economics and finance. There is €25,000 to be shared between the winners and their training centres! The deadline for submissions is 31/12/2022.

• EAA e-Conference on "Data Science & Data Ethics" 2023, 16 May 2023.
  Registration is open. The link to the registration form can be found here.
  The Call for Papers is open and has a deadline of 23 January 2023. Detailed submission guidelines can be found on the conference website.

Consultations from stakeholders

AAE is preparing a response to the following consultations:

• Consultation on 'ESAs Call for Evidence on greenwashing', deadline 10 January 2023.
• EIOPA's Discussion paper on methodological principles of insurance stress testing cyber component, deadline 28 February 2023.
• EIOPA's Discussion paper on the prudential treatment of insurers' sustainable assets and activities, deadline 5 March 2023.

News from the AAE 

• AAE is pleased to welcome Annette Aragones as Operations Assistant

On 1 December 2022, Annette Aragones joined the team. Annette will support Monique Schuilenburg in the operations of the AAE secretariat. Lutz Wilhelmy welcomed Annette appropriately when the Board met in Brussels end of November 2022.

• AAE selected the host of the next European Congress of Actuaries in 2024

After intensive discussions and careful considerations, the AAE Board decided to accept the application of ISOA Italy to host the next ECA. The final dates have not yet been selected, but will most likely be in May/June 2024. 

• AAE will host the next European Actuarial Day in June 2023

The virtual event format of AAE has had its premier in 2021. The AAE Board now decided to continue with the EAD every two year alternating with the ECA. All information for next year´s edition will be published in the next newsletter issue.

• Kartina Thomson new member of the Editorial Board of The European Actuary

We are pleased to announce that Kartina Thomson agreed to join the Editorial Board of The European Actuary, thereby replacing Gunn Albertsen as Board liaison.
