AAE submitted a response to: 

• EIOPA and ECB's Staff Paper on Policy options to reduce the climate insurance protection gap
• ESAs Joint consultation on the review of SFDR Delegated Regulation

News from the AAE 

Scheduled meetings with stakeholders 

• On 3 July 2023, a delegation of the AAE met with Petra Hielkema and her expert colleagues at the EIOPA premises in Frankfurt. 

Henning Wergen, Michael Lucas and José Antonio Herce, new Honorary Fellows of the Instituto de Actuarios Españoles

The 2023 General Assembly of the Instituto de Actuarios Españoles has unanimously approved the designation of Henning Wergen, Michael Lucas and José Antonio Herce as new Honorary Fellows for their important contributions to the development of the profession and the Instituto.
 
"The General Assembly unanimously approved the proposal to appoint as Honorary Fellow those three people who have been key to the profession in a very recent period. One, José Antonio Herce, for his great contribution to making the profession increasingly well-known in Spain. And the other two, Henning Wergen and Michael Lucas, for their support to the Institute in the profession's increasingly important European arena," declared Rafael Moreno after the Assembly.

Henning Wergen is currently chairing the AAE Education Committee and Michael Lucas is Honorary Member of the AAE. 


IN MEMORIAM OF CLAUDIO TOMASSINI

It is with deep regret that the Actuarial Association of Europe was informed of the passing of Claudio Tomassini. Claudio was a member of the AAE, and a former member of the Nominations Panel.

Claudio's dedication extended beyond the AAE, as he played a vital role in various actuarial committees in Italy. He also served as the President of the Territorial Council of Actuaries, providing invaluable knowledge and experience to our profession.

We deeply mourn the loss of Claudio Tomassini and extend our sympathies to his family and colleagues. His contributions will be remembered, and his absence will be felt within our community
