The Board of Directors of the Instituto dos Actuários
Portugueses took office on 28 February 2024
Lourdes Afonso (also AAE Board member since October 2023) has been
re-elected as President.

Celebration of David Wilkie's 90th Birthday, in-person

Professor David Wilkiewas at one time an active
member of the Groupe Consultatif, the predecessor of the
AAE. David reaches his 90th birthday next year, and a
Conference to commemorate this is being held at York University,
England, on 11 April 2024.

- The EAA would like to thank all those
who responded to the Call for Speakers have thus contributed
significantly to the compilation of a first-class and varied
conference program.
- This year's program is dedicated to the
highly relevant topic of Artificial Intelligence with three
presentations by international experts. Keynote speakers will
discuss the application of large language models in the insurance
industry and the impact of AI on the actuarial profession. Other
presentations will cover topics such as quantifying uncertainty for
an AI-based solvency capital estimate and using machine learning to
predict health insurance costs.

2024, Brussels, Belgium. The different sections of
the IAA (AFIR-ERM, ASTIN, IAAHS, IAALS, IACA, and PBSS) will host
the very 1st Joint Colloquium of all IAA Sections (JoCo2024) in
