Dear Members, Interested Parties and potential Interested
Parties of the IAA Mortality Working Group,
The International Actuarial Association Mortality Working Group,
which is working on the mortality and longevity issues within the
framework of the IAA, has now produced an Update from its latest
meeting held in Cape Town, South Africa, November 19th
and 21st, 2016.
The Update contains the summary of discussions at the meeting.
It also provides access to the detailed minutes of the meeting, MWG
papers and presentations. With many thanks to our
translators, all of the 11 language versions of the Update
(English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese,
Italian, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian) are now available
on this page here located on the IAA website. Please do
pass this message along to everyone who may have an interest on the
MWG activities and Update. You may choose to inform them in your
local language should you wish.
When you are sending the information to actuarial associations
and/or other groups, would you please keep a note of the names of
the organizations and groups you are emailing and send a copy of
this list to the members of MWG Marketing Subcommittee which

MWG is happy to share its knowledge and materials with as many
interested parties as possible (actuarial associations, pension
funds, universities, etc). At the same time the MWG wants to
enhance the benefit it can bring to all interested organizations
and parties by improving its work through the feedback it may
receive from these organizations and parties. For this, we have set up a short survey

here that we would be very gratefulif you and/or anyone reading
our Update and/or materials could provide us. We would greatly
appreciate receiving any feedbackno later than Monday, March 20th,
2017. When you further disseminate the information on the Update
please ask the recipients to provide their feedback on MWG
materials and activities.
For your information as well, we would like to invite you to
attend the upcoming seminar on mortality and longevity issues. This
will be a seminar presented by both the IAA Populations Issues
Working Group and the IAA Mortality Working Group to be held on 18
April 2017 in Budapest, Hungary, the day before the start date of
the IAA Council and Committee meetings. The seminar will cover
population, mortality and longevity issues and will be open to all
who may be interested in attending. Separate registration and a fee
will both be required to attend this event. The agenda,
registration information and further details will follow and will
be available on the IAA website very soon. Expressions of interest
can be forwarded directly to iaamwg@actuaries.org.
