WEBINAR
INVITATION
IAA Webinar
on Real-Life Experiences of Standard Setting
One of the Strategic Objectives of the
International Actuarial Association (IAA) is to support the
development of the actuarial profession worldwide and promote
appropriate professional standards through Member Associations
(IAA Strategic
Objective "Assure: Promotion of the
Profession").
To this end, the IAA has been engaged
in developing and maintaining model standards of actuarial
practice, called International Standards of Actuarial Practice
(ISAPs), and has encouraged actuarial standard-setting bodies to
maintain substantially consistent standards to the extent that the
content of the ISAPs is appropriate for actuaries in their
jurisdiction.
Following the findings from a survey
conducted in 2021, the IAA Professionalism Committee is hosting a
series of webinars and workshops to support IAA Member Associations
wanting help to establish or strengthen their standard setting
process, and to encourage the adoption/adaption of ISAPs locally.
The first webinar in the series, "Introduction to
Standard Setting", was held on 7 September
2022.
We are pleased to invite you to
participate in the second webinar in the series, in which we will
provide real-life experiences of standard
setting with examples from the German Association of Actuaries and
Caribbean Actuarial Association. This webinar will
include presentations by Birgit Kaiser (German Association of
Actuaries) and Lisa Wade (Caribbean Actuarial Association).
The moderator for the webinar will be Yvonne Lynch, Chair of the
IAA's Professionalism Committee.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday,
27 September 2022 at 07:00 EDT (Click
here to check your local time). The total
duration of this event will be 60 minutes including the
question-and-answer session at the end.
This webinar is open to all member
associations of the IAA, actuarial standard setting bodies and
interested parties. The webinar is free of charge - registration is
essential, however (see below).
