Four Sections of the International Actuarial Association -
AFIR-ERM (Financial Risks and ERM),
IAALS (Life Insurance), IACA
(Consulting) PBSS (Pensions, Benefits and Social
Security), invite you to a joint virtual Colloquium which will take
place online between 11-15 October 2021. The Colloquium will be
open at no charge to current or newly joining members of a
sponsoring section. Each day, a one-hour presentation will be given
by a keynote speaker, or a panel discussion is planned along with
2-3 hours concurrent sessions with contributed talks. The general
theme of the Colloquium is "Post pandemic actuary: what we have
learnt".
AFIR-ERM, IAALS, IACA, and PBSS encourage actuarial academics,
experts, and professionals to submit their abstracts. We are
particularly interested in the following
topics:
• Impact of the COVID pandemic on insurance, occupational
pensions, and social security sectors and on consulting on these
topics
• Risk management and/or measures responding to social demands
during the COVID pandemic
• New models of mortality, fertility, pandemics, and
longevity
• Pandemics and mortality: lessons for the future for the
insurance, occupational pensions, and social security sectors
• Risk management, product design, and consulting changes brought
on by pandemic
• Consulting lessons learned from the pandemic to manage better
future crises
• New areas of consulting actuarial practice
In addition to the topics related to the COVID pandemic, we are
open to all presentations in actuarial science and
practice, including:
• Valuation and hedging methods and models
• Asset allocation or any other investment management
strategies
• Risk sharing in insurance and occupational pensions
• Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG)
issues
• Innovation and technology
• Managing a consulting business in the face of a global
crisis
• Emerging risks and new challenges in pricing, benefit design,
consulting, and risk management
• Actuarial data science: new models and applications of new
techniques
• How actuaries can advise individuals
Submission process:
• The authors shall complete our online Abstract Submission form
by 1st August 2021
• Submissions of the abstracts and the presentations during the
Colloquium should be in English
• Abstracts should be around 200 words long
• All submissions should be sent using the online submission form.
Timetable:
• August 1st- Submission deadline for presentation
abstracts
• September 1st - Presentation acceptance by the Scientific
Committee and confirmation sent to the author(s)
• September 15th - Publication of the conference
program
• October 1st - Submission of the presentation documents of
the presentations accepted
The author(s) of an accepted and presented paper will be
eligible to be considered for Best Paper
Award(s) to be assigned by the Scientific
Committee. To be eligible for the Best Paper Award(s), the
author(s) must submit a full paper in English by September
15th . Please note that, in any way, those presentations
without a full paper submission are not eligible
for a Best Paper Award.
